FTC PRACTICA
Tuesdays, February 4 - March 25
7:30 pm at Four Seasons Dance Studio
In our absence, our friend, Tamara, will be hosting a semi-structured practica to review some of our past lessons.
By attending these practicas, we hope that you’ll learn how to learn and work with each other and form a cohesive group.
Remember to be kind, to be patient and enjoy the process. Your dancing and our tango community will certainly benefit.

THE FORMAT
7:30-8 pm — Warm Up (Dance what you know in the line of dance.)
8-8:30 pm — Assigned Movement
Practice the assigned movement in practice embrace (thumbs up embrace), focusing on at least ONE of these things:
Consistency of good posture
Appropriate use of the embrace
Timing of togetherness
Spacial awareness of your partner and others on the floor
Using the floor to lead and to respond
8:30-9 pm — Integration
Practice the using the move in normal open or close embrace in the line of dance with other moves you know. Mixing the assigned movement with other movements will test if it is done well. The objective is to see if:
the lead is clear enough for the follower to understand
the follower is really understanding the lead, not memorizing the movement.
If you feel you have the hang of it, here’s a bonus challenge: CHANGE the TIMING.
SINGLE TIME: 1 step per beat
DOUBLE TIME: 2 steps per beat
HALF TIME: 1 step per 2 beats
(If the move is in Single Time, try a different timing. If the move is easy in double time, try a different timing.)
